Authenticated EDI log disclosure via missing ACL check
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Broken access control in OpenEMR before 8.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to read EDI logs through edih_main.php. The endpoint validates a CSRF token but omits the acct/eob ACL check before edih_disp_log passes log_select to csv_log_html for file access. Any authenticated role, including Receptionist, can retrieve internal logs and protected health information outside the interface's permission boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
