Code execution via LHA header length underflow
Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026
Integer underflow in Modizer before 4.1.1 allows local users to corrupt heap memory by opening a crafted LHA archive. The bundled Lhasa decode_level3_header routine subtracts the base header size from a smaller attacker-controlled 32-bit level-3 header length, wrapping the allocation calculation. Exploitation requires user interaction with a malicious archive and can crash the player or enable code execution in its process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
