Arbitrary JavaScript execution via Disqus shim misselection
Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026
CSP bypass in Firefox before 147.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript through a crafted Disqus embed script. The Disqus SmartBlock shim uses querySelector to accept a non-Disqus data URL containing the expected embed suffix, then recreates that script without enforcing strict-dynamic. Exploitation requires Strict Enhanced Tracking Protection, a page with strict CSP, and user approval of the blocked Disqus content; execution remains in the page context.
