Code execution via NaN-to-integer conversion
Published Jan 28, 2026 · Updated Jan 28, 2026
Numeric conversion in International Color Consortium iccDEV before 2.3.1.2 allows attackers to execute code via crafted profile XML. CIccXmlArrayType<T, Tsig>::ParseText casts the result of nanf() directly to integer T rather than rejecting or normalizing NaN. A user or consuming application must process the crafted XML; the published proof reports undefined behavior and creation of an invalid ICC profile.
