Account takeover via unsanitized event descriptions
Published Jan 30, 2026 · Updated Jan 30, 2026
Stored XSS in ChurchCRM 7.0.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hijack accounts through a crafted event description. The calendar events API writes the Desc field to the event model without server-side sanitization, so stored markup executes when another user opens the event. A low-privilege account with event-creation rights and a viewing victim are required; an administrator victim exposes an administrator session.
