CVE-2026-24848Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via arbitrary-path file write

Published Mar 3, 2026 · Updated Mar 3, 2026

Arbitrary file write in OpenEMR 7.0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code through the FaxSMS module. EtherFaxActions.php's disposeDocument() accepts an unvalidated file_path and base64-decodes attacker-controlled content directly into file_put_contents(), without confining the destination or file type. Any authenticated account can reach the action when the FaxSMS module is enabled and EtherFax is configured, allowing a PHP web shell to run as the web server user.
