Process hang via non-prime certificate modulus
Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026
An infinite loop in IX-Ray Engine 1.6 before 1.3 allows remote attackers to hang the process through a crafted certificate. The bundled OpenSSL BN_mod_sqrt function calculates indefinitely when supplied a non-prime modulus during certificate parsing. Exploitation requires a network-reachable path that parses an attacker-supplied certificate; the loop can pin a CPU and leave the affected process unresponsive.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
