Crash via recursive Lua error stack exhaustion
Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in UEVR's bundled Lua runtime before 1.05 allows remote attackers to crash an injected game process via crafted Lua code. In luaG_runerror and luaV_concat, recursive error handling leaves temporary values on Lua's limited EXTRA_STACK until subsequent writes pass the intended stack boundary. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled Lua execution that triggers a string-length or C-stack overflow during error processing; published impacts are limited to service interruption and low subsequent availability loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
