CVE-2026-24797Network attack vector

Remote crash via signed decompression-size overflow

Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Cupoch before 0.2.11.0 allows remote attackers to crash tjbench when decompressing oversized images. The decomp function computes the destination-buffer fill length and row offsets with signed int multiplication, which overflows for images above 715,827,882 pixels and drives writes outside the allocated buffer. Reachability requires a consuming application to pass such an image to the bundled tjbench decompression path; the upstream report documents a segfault.
