CVE-2026-24775Network attack vector

Forced same-instance requests via unvalidated work-package IDs

Published Jan 28, 2026 · Updated Jan 28, 2026

Improper input validation in OpenProject 17.0.0 through 17.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to trigger same-instance GET requests. The BlockNote work-package mention extension accepts a nonnumeric work-package ID and incorporates it into a relative API link without enforcing a numeric identifier. Exploitation requires a crafted collaborative document to be opened; the viewer's browser then issues attacker-chosen GET requests within that OpenProject instance, enabling forced actions, content spoofing, or a persistent service interruption.
