Stored XSS via unsanitized inline SVG preview

Published Jan 28, 2026 · Updated Jan 28, 2026

Stored XSS in NocoDB before 0.301.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser via SVG attachments. The isPreviewAllowed function accepts MIME types containing image, and fileReadv3 serves image/svg+xml content inline without sanitizing the file. An uploader needs attachment permission and a separate user must view the stored SVG; the script then runs under the application origin and can read data or perform actions with the viewer's privileges.
