Authenticated database-write outage via unsafe deep merge

Published Jan 28, 2026 · Updated Jan 28, 2026

Prototype pollution in NocoDB before 0.301.0 allows remote authenticated users to halt all database writes via a crafted connection-test request. The deepMerge function recursively merges the endpoint body without filtering proto, constructor, or prototype keys, allowing Object.prototype modification. Org-level-creator permissions are required, and successful pollution leaves database writes unavailable for all users until the server process restarts.
