Credential disclosure via plaintext STS logging
Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026
Information disclosure in RustFS alpha.13 through alpha.81 allows attackers to obtain STS credentials from application logs. The STS handler at rustfs/src/admin/handlers/sts.rs logs each newly generated access key, secret key, and session token at INFO level in plaintext. Access to retained or forwarded logs is required, and exposed credentials can authenticate to RustFS within their assigned lifetime and permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
