Contributor-level mail relay configuration via unchecked template metadata
Published Jun 13, 2026 · Updated Jun 13, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Softaculous Pagelayer 2.0.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to configure arbitrary mail templates. The pagelayer_save_content handler stores pagelayer_contact_templates metadata that pagelayer_contact_submit later trusts without a privileged or published-post boundary. Contributor-level post access is sufficient; unauthenticated submissions can then select the stored template and influence outbound email behavior.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
