Improper authorization in Hitachi Energy Relion REB500 8.0.0.0 through 8.3.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and alter directories. The DAC protocol accepts directory operations from low-privilege accounts for paths outside their assigned authorization, but the vendor has not disclosed the faulty check. Network access and valid low-level credentials are required, and the documented consequence is unauthorized data access and modification without service interruption.
