Subscriber-level shortcode execution via unvalidated action value
Published Jan 23, 2026 · Updated Jan 23, 2026
Code injection in Textmetrics WordPress Plugin 3.6.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary shortcodes. A reachable action passes an insufficiently validated value to WordPress's do_shortcode function, causing it to interpret the value as shortcode markup rather than inert data. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the resulting effect is limited to functionality exposed by shortcodes registered on the affected site.
