CVE-2026-24514Network attack vector

Controller pod crashes via oversized admission requests

Published Feb 3, 2026 · Updated Feb 3, 2026

Denial of service in Kubernetes ingress-nginx before 1.13.7 and 1.14.0 through 1.14.2 allows remote authenticated users to crash controller pods. The validating admission webhook processes oversized request bodies without an effective size limit, allowing admission processing to consume excessive memory. Exploitation requires access to the enabled admission webhook and can kill the controller pod or exhaust the Kubernetes node's memory.
