Authenticated local file inclusion via traversable template name
Published Mar 3, 2026 · Updated Mar 3, 2026
Local file inclusion in Page Builder by SiteOrigin 2.33.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to include server files through template names. The post-loop widget passes a Contributor-controlled template value to locate_template(), whose plugin-directory fallback appends that value and includes the resolved PHP file without confining the path to the plugins directory. Contributor access is required; path traversal can expose local data, and uploaded PHP content can turn inclusion into server-side code execution.
