Administrator account creation via unprotected AJAX option update
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Missing authorization in PowerPack for LearnDash before 1.3.0 allows remote attackers to update WordPress options through an AJAX action. The learndash_save_class_data_ajax action accepts class_name and formData parameters and writes the selected option without an authorization or CSRF check. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient to enable registration, change the default role, and create an Administrator account.
