Account takeover via unverified password changes
Published Jan 26, 2026 · Updated Jan 26, 2026
Unverified password changes in Tenda W30E V2 firmware 16.01.0.19(5037) and earlier allow remote authenticated users to take over accounts. The maintenance interface accepts a new account password without requiring the existing password; no deeper endpoint or function detail is public. Network access and a low-privileged authenticated session are required; success replaces an account credential and permits subsequent use of that account.
