Administrator takeover via unchecked backend password change
Published Jan 26, 2026 · Updated Jan 26, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Tenda W30E V2 firmware 16.01.0.19(5037) and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access. The user management API accepts a direct backend request from a low-privileged account to change the administrator password without enforcing the web interface's role restriction. Low-privileged management access is required, after which the password change grants full control of the router.
