Code execution via source-unaware callback checks
Published May 20, 2026 · Updated May 20, 2026
Sandbox bypass in Twig 2.16.x and 3.9.0 through 3.25.x allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through crafted templates. The callback checks for sort, filter, map, and reduce omit the current template Source, so source-policy sandboxing accepts non-Closure PHP callables. Exploitation requires template-rendering capability, a SourcePolicyInterface-enabled sandbox that is not global, an affected filter, and a non-Closure callback.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
