Invisible-status disclosure via presence-array discrepancy
Published Jan 22, 2026 · Updated Jan 22, 2026
Information disclosure in Discord Gateway API through 2026-01-16 allows remote authenticated users to infer an Invisible user's client state. The Gateway serializes Invisible users into the presences array with status offline but omits truly offline users, exposing state through response membership. An authenticated Gateway session with access to the target's guild presence data is required; the result discloses only whether the client is connected.
