Administrator-session script execution via unchecked postMessage
Published Mar 7, 2026 · Updated Mar 7, 2026
DOM-based XSS in RebelCode WP RSS Aggregator 5.0.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to run JavaScript in an administrator's session. The admin-shell.js message listener accepts cross-origin postMessage data and passes its unvalidated URL directly to window.open without restricting the scheme. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to visit an attacker-controlled site; the resulting script can read or alter data available to that session.
