Contributor-level stored XSS via lazy-load attribute rewriting
Published Mar 20, 2026 · Updated Mar 20, 2026
Stored XSS in Autoptimize 3.1.14 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through lazy-loaded image attributes. The add_lazyload function uses an overly permissive regular expression that matches whitespace-prefixed src= text without restricting the match to an actual image attribute. Contributor-level access is required to store a crafted image tag, and the injected script executes when another user views the affected page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
