SYSTEM elevation via local NTLM reflection
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Improper authentication in Microsoft Windows SMB Server allows local users with low privileges to gain elevated privileges. A public Server 2025 proof of concept abuses SMB arbitrary-port connections and session multiplexing to reflect coerced LSASS NTLM authentication back to local SMB. It yields SYSTEM on default Server 2025; the artifact states SMB signing blocks this relay on Windows 11 24H2, while its other listed releases remain unvalidated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
