CVE-2026-24164Network attack vector

Code execution via unsafe pickle deserialization

Published Mar 31, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026

Deserialization in BioNeMo Framework on Linux allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a user to process a malicious pickle. The pickles_to_tars function in bionemo-webdatamodule passes file bytes to pickle.loads and then reserializes the result instead of copying the bytes unchanged. Exploitation requires user interaction; successful deserialization runs attacker-controlled code and can disclose, alter, or destroy data or interrupt the process.
