Unauthenticated memory corruption via unbounded DHCP rule parsing
Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026
Buffer overflow in Tenda W20E firmware 15.11.0.6 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via oversized DHCP binding-rule data. The formAddDhcpBindRule handler passes attacker-controlled addDhcpRules fields to addDhcpRule, where unbounded sscanf conversions write into dhcpsIP and dhcpsMac buffers without field-width limits. The network-reachable path requires no privileges or user interaction; malformed input can overwrite adjacent memory, while reliable code execution is not demonstrated publicly.
