Local privilege escalation via PID reuse
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
A TOCTOU race in Native Instruments Native Access before 3.24 allows local users to invoke privileged XPC actions on macOS. The privileged helper passes the connecting process ID from _xpc_connection_get_pid to hasValidSignature, allowing PID reuse between identity capture and code-signature validation. Winning that race from a low-privileged account exposes unrestricted helper file operations, enabling root privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
