Root command execution via world-writable uninstall script
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
Privilege escalation in Arturia Software Center 2.12.0.3157 for macOS allows local users to execute commands as root during plugin removal. Installed plugins receive a root-owned uninstall.sh with mode 777, and the privileged helper later executes that user-writable script as root. A low-privileged user must modify the script and then cause the corresponding plugin to be uninstalled through the interface or helper.
