Denial of service in affected kpdecker jsdiff releases before 8.0.3 allows attackers to crash applications through crafted patch input. parsePatch applies filename-header parsing that fails on carriage returns or Unicode line separators, causing an infinite loop and unbounded memory use; leading-garbage matching can also take cubic time. Reachability requires an application to parse attacker-controlled patch text or attacker-controlled filenames, and applyPatch is affected only when given a patch string.
