Unauthorized dashboard modification via unchecked chart associations
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Improper authorization in Apache Superset before 6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to modify dashboards they do not own. UpdateChartCommand accepts dashboard IDs from the chart-update REST body and associates the chart without checking write access to each target. The attacker must already have chart-update permission; exploitation changes dashboard membership but does not expose data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
