Authenticated code execution via unsafe report deserialization
Published Jan 22, 2026 · Updated Jan 22, 2026
Deserialization in Tendenci before 15.3.12 allows remote authenticated users with staff access to execute code through Helpdesk reports. The run_report() function in tendenci/apps/helpdesk/views/staff.py passes a saved report's untrusted serialized data to pickle.loads(), allowing object reconstruction to invoke attacker-controlled code. The Helpdesk module must be enabled and staff-level access is required; resulting code runs with the Tendenci service account's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
