Unauthorized host creation via incorrect import authorization
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Incorrect authorization in the Zabbix API allows remote authenticated users to create unauthorized hosts through configuration.import. The API accepts object creation from the User role when template or host write permissions exist, without enforcing the role's normal creation restriction. Exploitation requires an authenticated User-role account with those write permissions and can expose confidential monitoring data through attacker-created hosts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.0.0 <=6.0.40 changes=[{"at":"6.0.41","status":"unaffected"}]
