Service interruption via unrestricted request charsets
Published Feb 4, 2026 · Updated Feb 4, 2026
Denial of service in affected Apollo Server releases allows remote attackers to interrupt standalone GraphQL service with crafted HTTP bodies. The startStandaloneServer path passed exotic declared charsets into Express JSON body parsing without an allowlist, triggering inefficient charset processing. Exposure requires direct use of the default standalone server in 2.0.0 through 3.13.0, 4.2.0 through 4.12.x, or 5.0.0 through 5.3.x; framework integrations are not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 2.0.0, <= 3.13.0
- Affected versionversion=>= 4.2.0, < 4.13.0
