Desktop command execution via unsanitized block icon
Published Jan 19, 2026 · Updated Jan 19, 2026
Stored XSS in SiYuan before 3.5.4 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript, or desktop commands, through a crafted block icon. The /api/attr/setBlockAttrs endpoint stores an attacker-controlled attrs.icon value, and the dynamic-icon renderer inserts it into an HTML attribute without escaping; quote injection adds an event handler. Reaching the API and modifying a block are required, and another user must render that block; Electron's Node bridge then turns the script into commands at that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
