Reflected XSS via HTML-rendered location alert
Published Jan 19, 2026 · Updated Jan 19, 2026
Reflected XSS in Movary before 0.70.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in another user's browser through categoryCreated. The location settings script passes the parameter to setLocationsAlert, whose vulnerable implementation interprets the message as HTML instead of plain text. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted location-settings URL; the injected script then runs in that user's Movary origin.
