Host code execution via exposed AsyncFunction constructor
Published Jan 27, 2026 · Updated Jan 27, 2026
Code injection in nyariv SandboxJS before 0.8.26 allows attackers to execute arbitrary host JavaScript through sandboxed async functions. The executor returns the native AsyncFunction constructor because the safe-replacement map omits it, so constructed functions run in the host global scope. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled code into SandboxJS; a successful escape grants that code the host process's privileges.
