CVE-2026-23788

System crash via HDR buffer size validation failure

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

Heap overflow in the Exynos DRM HDR driver in Samsung Exynos 1280 firmware allows attackers to crash the system via oversized HDR data. The DPU driver fails to validate a supplied buffer size before processing HDR data, allowing the input to overwrite adjacent kernel heap memory. Samsung has not published the required access level or input path; the bounded consequence is kernel memory corruption and a system crash.
