Server-side HEAD requests via MIME type lookup
Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026
SSRF in NAVER Corporation Lucy-XSS Filter before commit 7c1de6d allows remote attackers to send HEAD requests to arbitrary URLs. The checkVulnerableWithHttp method resolves a missing file extension by opening the untrusted src URL to infer its MIME type. The ObjectSecurityListener or EmbedSecurityListener must be enabled; resulting requests can probe internal services and disclose the server's Java version.
