Rejected argument injection in Istio through 1.28.2 described pod creators altering iptables rules through an annotation. The excludeInterfaces annotation accepted arbitrary strings as command arguments, allowing extra iptables match parameters to alter firewall behavior. The CNA withdrew the record because the gate requires pod-creation permission, which already permits disabling sidecar injection entirely and adds no security impact.
