Local kernel crash via corrupted MDL length
Published Jan 22, 2026 · Updated Jan 22, 2026
Driver denial of service in affected VB-Audio Voicemeeter and Matrix releases allows local users to crash Windows via virtual audio IOCTLs. The drivers map non-paged pool into user space with write access to a stored allocation length, then reuse that mutable value directly in IoAllocateMdl before building the MDL. Low-privileged local access is sufficient to corrupt the length and trigger a kernel BSoD, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
