Account takeover via user-controlled credential lookup
Published Jan 21, 2026 · Updated Jan 21, 2026
Improper access control in D-Link D-View 8 2.0.1.107 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to take over any account. Backend API endpoints trust an arbitrary user_id parameter and return the targeted user's reusable credential material without verifying ownership. Any authenticated account can retrieve a super administrator's secret, impersonate that account, and obtain full administrative control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
