Authenticated PHP execution via omitted .phar denylist
Published Jul 7, 2026 · Updated Jul 7, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Vtiger CRM before 8.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code through the Documents module. Its extension denylist omits .phar, preserving attacker-supplied PHP archives in the web-accessible storage directory, while Apache 2.2 access-control syntax in .htaccess is ignored by Apache 2.4. A low-privileged account and an Apache deployment that executes .phar files are required; subsequent unauthenticated requests can run the stored payload.
