Unauthenticated API manipulation via open proxy
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
Missing authentication in the ElementsKit Lite Mailchimp widget before 3.7.9 allows remote attackers to issue upstream API requests. The public subscribe REST route accepts caller-supplied Mailchimp credentials and a weakly validated list parameter when building upstream requests. No WordPress account or user interaction is required; abuse can manipulate subscriptions, exhaust Mailchimp quotas, and consume site resources.
