Information disclosure via path-equivalence misclassification
Published Mar 10, 2026 · Updated Mar 10, 2026
Path-equivalence errors in Microsoft Windows MapUrlToZone allow remote attackers to bypass security-zone classification over a network. MapUrlToZone resolves equivalent network paths inconsistently and assigns an untrusted remote path to a more trusted security zone. No authentication or user interaction is required; the published impact is disclosure of data protected by zone-based security decisions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
