Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Stored XSS in AYS Pro Secure Copy Content Protection 5.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via ays_block attributes. The ays_block shortcode renders user-controlled attributes into page output without sufficient input sanitization or context-appropriate output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store a payload in a page, and its JavaScript executes in the browser whenever that page is viewed.
