Missing authentication in Azure IoT Explorer before 0.15.13 allows remote attackers to read local files over a network. The Electron app's embedded HTTP server binds to all network interfaces and exposes unauthenticated API endpoints, including its file-reading API. Exposure requires the desktop app to be running with its server reachable; attackers can retrieve files accessible to the user account.
