Stored XSS via unneutralized rule names
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Stored XSS in GFI MailEssentials AI before 22.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a logged-in user's browser. The Advanced Content Filtering workflow stores the ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$pv1$txtRuleName value and later renders it as HTML without neutralization. An authenticated account can plant the payload, but a logged-in user must view the affected management interface; execution can read or alter data available to that session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
