Service hang via unhandled upload disconnects
Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Feb 27, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Express.js Multer before 2.1.0 allows remote attackers to hang upload handling by aborting a multipart file upload. In lib/make-middleware.js, request disconnects are not handled as failures, leaving Busboy processing and middleware completion pending after the client closes the connection. Exploitation requires a reachable application route that invokes Multer for uploads; repeated aborted requests consume server resources and interrupt that route's service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
